The Oklahoman staff picks this week's playoff games

by Scott Wright Published: December 12, 2013

This is likely the last week for anyone to make a serious move on Trent and knock him out of the top spot, since there will only be three games remaining after Saturday.

Trent bounced back from a 5-5 mark in the second round of the playoffs by going 9-1 last week to keep his lead at four games. This week, we’ll pick all 11 games being played:

Jenks 28, Tulsa Union 17
Guthrie 38, McAlester 35
Anadarko 35, Poteau 20
Blanchard 22, Plainview 19
Kingfisher 35, Seminole 32
Davis 28, Vian 24
Millwood 35, Hartshorne 20
Ringling 26, Talihina 22
Hollis 28, Apache 20
Laverne 46, Pond Creek-Hunter 28
Cherokee 42, Tipton 34
Lock of the Week: Cherokee over Tipton. Cherokee’s size is too much to handle in Class C. Yeah, the defense finally gave up a few touchdowns in the playoffs, but the win over a really good Shattuck team in the semifinals was very impressive.

Jenks 28, Tulsa Union 21
Guthrie 35, McAlester 31
Anadarko 34, Poteau 17
Blanchard 21, Plainview 17
Kingfisher 35, Seminole 28
Davis 34, Vian 31
Millwood 35, Hartshorne 21
Ringling 31, Talihina 27
Hollis 41, Apache 35
Laverne 45, Pond Creek-Hunter 40
Cherokee 32, Tipton 30
Lock of the Week: Anadarko over Poteau. Anadarko coach Kent Jackson has attempted to downplay the talent the Warriors possess this season, but this is the time it truly shines on both sides of the ball.

Jenks 28, Tulsa Union 24
McAlester 31, Guthrie 28
Anadarko 35, Poteau 20
Blanchard 28, Plainview 21
Kingfisher 35, Seminole 34
Davis 34, Vian 27
Millwood 21, Hartshorne 6
Ringling 21, Talihina 13
Hollis 27, Apache 14
Laverne 44, Pond Creek-Hunter 30
Cherokee 37, Tipton 34
Lock of the Week: Millwood over Hartshorne. Millwood was without standout players Alfonzo McMillian and Quincy Dotson last week, but still found a way to win at Meeker behind quarterback Cameron Batson. This week, expect a near full strength Falcons team to have no problem with Hartshorne.

Last week: 9-1, Lock: 1-0
Overall: 96-34, Lock: 10-3

Last week: 8-2, Lock: 1-0
Overall: 92-38, Lock: 10-3

Last week: 7-3, Lock: 1-0
Overall: 91-39, Lock: 12-1
