After moving into the top Meeker proved its worth, knocking off previously No. 7 Stroud last week.

And Stroud’s second loss of the season opened the door for Chisholm to jump into the poll at No. 10 this week as well.

OCS dropped a couple of spots, not just because of the 42-35 loss to Millwood — which was a respectable performance — but because of the overall accomplishments of other teams as compared to the Saints. Vian remains undeated, while Hennessey and OCS have very comparable schedules so far. Both beat Jones and Tulsa NOAH, and both lost to strong 3A opponents, Hennessey to Kingfisher and OCS to Metro Christian.

Much like the Class 5A debate between Carl Albert and McAlester, the two teams are too close to judge right now, so the better record gets the edge.

Here’s The Oklahoman’s Class 2A top 10:

Rank, Team, Record (Prev.)
1. Millwood, 6-0 (1)
2. Davis, 6-0 (2)
3. Vian, 6-0 (4)
4. Hennessey, 5-1 (5)
5. OCS, 4-2 (3)
6. Commerce, 6-0 (6)
7. Meeker, 6-0 (10)
8. Adair, 5-1 (8)
9. Washington, 5-1 (9)
10. Chisholm, 5-1 (NR)
Dropped out: Stroud, 4-2 (7)
