It’s been coming for the Midwest City Bombers, and it’s finally here. At 3-0 with wins over Edmond Santa Fe, Stillwater and Del City, the Bombers moved into the top 10 this week, taking yet another big step forward after last year’s disappointing 3-7 season.

The Bomber defense looks to be one of the best in the state, though the offense will determine just how long they can hold a top 10 spot, especially with Norman North waiting this week.

Midwest City wasn’t the only new member of the top 10 in 6A this week, with 3-0 Bixby also jumping in. The Spartans are a little bit of a mystery, but the last two wins over Sand Springs, a preseason top 10 team, and at Springdale, Ark., carried enough weight to crack the list.

Here’s The Oklahoman’s new Class 6A poll:

Rank, Team, Record (Prev.)
1. Jenks, 3-0 (1)
2. Tulsa Union, 1-2 (3)
3. Broken Arrow, 2-1 (2)
4. Ed. Santa Fe, 2-1 (4)
5. Westmoore, 3-0 (8)
6. Owasso, 1-2 (5)
7. Lawton, 3-0 (6)
8. Southmoore, 2-1 (9)
9. Midwest City, 3-0 (NR)
10. Bixby, 3-0 (NR)
Dropped out: Norman, 2-1 (7), Norman North, 1-2 (10)
