Norman North can thank the right foot of field goal kicker Jake Edzards for the Timberwolves’ return to the Class 6A top 10, with the 45-42 win over Midwest City on Edzards’ last-second 43-yard field goal.

The Timberwolves replace Bixby in the poll after Westmoore handed the Spartans their first loss of the season. Sapulpa is beginning to make its case for a spot in the rankings, but lacks a statement victory, having faced a schedule of teams that are a combined 4-12 on the year.

Despite the last-second loss, Midwest City holds its spot in the poll this week, and Southmoore hangs onto a spot in the poll after a narrow defeat to No. 4 Edmond Santa Fe.

Here’s The Oklahoman’s updated Class 6A top 10 poll:

Rank, Team, Record (Prev.)
1. Jenks, 4-0 (1)
2. Tulsa Union, 2-2 (2)
3. Broken Arrow, 3-1 (3)
4. Ed. Santa Fe, 3-1 (4)
5. Westmoore, 4-0 (5)
6. Lawton, 4-0 (7)
7. Owasso, 1-3 (6)
8. Norman North, 2-2 (NR)
9. Midwest City, 3-1 (9)
10. Southmoore, 2-2 (8)
Dropped out: Bixby, 3-1 (10)
