The Oklahoman's Class B rankings: Dewar moves up, Central Marlow moves in

Class B seems to have some drama every week with a good top-10 matchup, and this week it was Dewar’s 27-18 win over Davenport.

The loss bumped 3-2 Davenport out of the top 10, while Dewar jumped over Fox for the No. 6 spot in this week’s poll. Both teams are 4-1 on the year, but the win over Davenport gave Dewar a little more strength on the resume.

Central Marlow, now 5-0 after yet another lopsided victory, steps into the 10th spot. Its win over Allen in Week 4 is probably the strongest win on the schedule, but Fox and Alex are waiting on the schedule in late October.

This week’s big Class B game involves Dewar again, playing host to No. 2 Wetumka.

Here’s The Oklahoman’s Class B poll:

Rank, Team, Record (Prev.)
1. Laverne, 5-0 (1)
2. Wetumka, 5-0 (2)
3. Rejoice Christian, 5-0 (3)
4. Alex, 5-0 (4)
5. Pond Creek-Hunter, 5-0 (5)
6. Dewar, 4-1 (7)
7. Fox, 4-1 (6)
8. Coyle, 4-1 (9)
9. Merritt, 5-0 (10)
10. Central Marlow, 5-0 (NR)
Dropped out: Davenport, 3-2 (8)
