The Oklahoman's Class C rankings: Shattuck makes another big move

by Scott Wright Published: November 11, 2013

Shattuck started the year at No. 10 in The Oklahoman’s Class C poll, mostly because other coaches were speaking highly of them. Turns out those coaches were right.

With the Indians’ only loss coming to unbeaten Class B No. 1 Laverne, they have made their way up the top 10 over the course of the season, and made their biggest jump this week.

After handing previously No. 3 and unbeaten Sharon-Mutual a 38-14 defeat, Shattuck jumped up to the No. 3 spot in this week’s poll, while Sharon-Mutual dipped down to No. 5.

In the only other move this week, Timberlake returned to the poll in place of Sasakwa, which struggled to get past Maud.

Here’s The Oklahoman’s Class C top 10:

Rank, Team, Record (Prev.)
1. Cherokee, 8-0 (1)
2. Tipton, 8-0 (2)
3. Shattuck, 8-1 (5)
4. Thackerville, 9-0 (4)
5. Sharon-Mutual, 9-1 (3)
6. Bluejacket, 8-1 (6)
7. Balko, 7-2 (7)
8. Arkoma, 7-3 (8)
9. Timberlake, 6-4 (NR)
10. SW Covenant, 6-4 (10)
Dropped out: Sasakwa, 7-3 (9)
