The Oklahoman's picks for the Red River Rivalry

The Oklahoman’s college football coverage team picks the OU-Texas game:

→Berry Tramel: Texas, 22-21

I always pick who won last year, though if OU wins, this will be three straight years that theory has gone poof.

→John Rohde: Texas, 27-20

Before fall practice began, Sam Bradford said he wanted to prove to pro scouts what he could do on the run. He’ll get his chance Saturday against some blitzing Longhorns.

→Jenni Carlson: Texas, 34-24

The quarterback battle will be grand fun, but this game will turn on something much less sexy. The Oklahoma offensive line remains suspect, and that gives Texas an edge.

→Jake Trotter: Texas, 27-24

Sooners play their best game of the year, but Colt McCoy leads ’Horns on a game-winning drive

→David Ubben: Texas, 27-21

The Sooners might have two of their three injured stars back, but the third, Jermaine Gresham, is the guy they need to beat the Longhorns.

→Brandon Chatmon: Texas, 35-28

The Sooners’ lack of receiving threats has Sam Bradford on the run for most of the game, and OU loses despite a late rally.

→John Helsley: Texas, 27-21

Sooners took a much better team into the Cotton Bowl last year and lost by 10. Until now, Texas has been bored. The Horns turn up the intensity today.
