Dave Morris and his NewsOK.tv video team started a new show this week featuring editors in The Oklahoman’s newsroom.
We’ve been running a full four consecutive days now, and we expect there’s much more to come.
The idea is to give our readers a peek at what’s to come in The Oklahoman the following day. After all, we know local users spend a lot of time on NewsOK each day. And we know they’re reading a variety of stories throughout the day– breaking news, headlines from around the world, blog posts, sports updates or serious in-depth journalism.
Stories and information of all kinds are available on NewsOK every day.
But while all that is happening, reporters and editors are also busy being journalists. They are gathering, reporting, writing, editing, re-writing and re-editing stories until they are ready to be publicly discussed and released to the readers on NewsOK, in The Oklahoman and on Oklahoman.com.
That’s why we want you to see this video before you leave the office each day at about 5 p.m.
Here is the premiere episode from Monday, featuring Nick Trougakos, assistant local editor for The Oklahoman.
On Tuesday, after a full evaluation of the pilot, the show was picked up for a full month of weekday production — or something like that.
OK, it was actually nothing like that, but I can tell you that The Oklahoman’s newsroom and the NewsOK.tv studio production group are committed to offering this to our audience each day.
By Wednesday, the video was embedded for quick viewing on the NewsOK home page. That’s where you can expect to find it each day sometime shortly after 5 p.m. each weekday.
Here’s an example from Wednesday, this time starring Angi Bruss, Nick Trougakos and sports editor Mike Sherman:
It’s just another example of finding new ways to get information to the reader. We’ll try other daily scheduled programming in the future as we continue to find different ways to get information to you in a variety of platforms.
