The tale of NBA preseasons past: Don't read too much into exhibition games

It always matters if you win, unless it's the preseason.

Then again, maybe it does matter.

From 2004-05 through last season, 65.1 percent of the teams that finished .500 or better during the NBA preseason advanced to the playoffs, while 37.5 percent did not, according to NBA.com.
