That's not to say you can't get traditional toppings on their homemade, wood-fired pizzas. The staff gladly will build you a pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, black olives and onions, or any combination you choose.
General manager Denise McConnell said the restaurant uses pecan wood in its ovens, which gives everything a special flavor. And nothing at The Wedge is microwaved — everything goes through their well-seasoned ovens.
While the food may err on the side of gourmet, the surroundings are fine for a group of friends, or a family with kids.
It's not a very romantic spot, but it's comfortable and casual and very welcoming for those looking for an easy-going date restaurant.
