24 — Athletes with Oklahoma connections who were born on Christmas Eve: Former Westmoore High and current big-league pitcher Jamey Wright turns 39; former OU and Green Bay Packers running back De'Mond Parker will be 37; former Sooners and San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Chuck Thomas will turn 53; and former Tulsa and Milwaukee Bucks guard Paul Pressey will celebrate his 55th birthday.

$105,000 — According to Edmontonjournal.com, Linus Omark was scheduled to make $105,000 this season while playing for the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League. Omark, who was signed to a one-year contract by the Edmonton Oilers, was traded to the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday for a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. Omark led the Barons with 29 points in 29 games.

5,563 — Total rushing yards this season by Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.), which set a record for all NCAA levels. The Bears, who lost to Northwest Missouri State on Saturday in the Division II championship game, did it without having a 1,000-yard rusher. The previous record holder was Pittsburg State (Kan.), another D-II program, which ran for 5,320 yards during the 2004 season. Third on the list is Oklahoma, which totaled a Division I-record 5,196 yards in 1971.
