1-0 — Record of former Edmond Santa Fe baseball star Duke von Schamann when he was traded last week by the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Cleveland Indians. The right-hander’s only appearance this season, for the Dodgers’ Double-A affiliate in Chattanooga, Tenn., was a seven-inning, complete-game shutout. Von Schamann, whose father Uwe was an OU and NFL kicker, was a 15th-round draft pick by the Dodgers in 2012.

327 — Miles traveled by the Panhandle State University men’s golf team last week to participate in the OBU Spring Invitational at the John Conrad Regional Course in Midwest City. This week, the Aggies will bus 308 miles to Winfield, Kan., to play in another tournament. Over two weeks time, that’s 635 miles and 10 hours, 21 minutes of time on the road. Nothing like trying to study the books with the monotonous hum of tires on pavement.
