DETROIT (AP) — The City Theatre in Detroit will host a party next month in honor of Detroit Red Wings great Nicklas Lidstrom's jersey retirement ceremony.
The Red Wings announced details Thursday about the Lidstrom Jersey Retirement Night Viewing Party on March 6.
The City Theatre sits inside Hockeytown Café. The ticketed event will show the jersey retirement ceremony in its entirety and feature an in-person appearance by Lidstrom.
Lidstrom will have his No. 5 retired before the Wings face off against the Colorado Avalanche at Joe Louis Arena. Lidstrom retired in 2012 after a career in which he won four Stanley Cups with Detroit.
Lidstrom was a seven-time winner of the Norris Trophy, which goes to the league's best defenseman.
