Therapy dogs from A New Leash on Life are helping OU College of Law students cope with the stress of finals in Norman.

NORMAN — With finals looming, stressed-out students at the University of Oklahoma College of Law are getting some much-needed comfort from man's best friend.

Therapy dogs used to relieve OU law students' stress

May 1The students are studying for their final exams.

Therapy dogs from A New Leash on Life visited the college Tuesday and will return Friday, as well as next Tuesday, to offer students respite from books, tests and worries.

The dogs, with their handlers, provide a bit of relaxation and enjoyment amid the serious business of trying to pass exams, officials say.

The certified therapy dogs are identifiable by red bandannas. Students are encouraged to pet and get to know the dogs in between cracking the books.

Classes end Friday, with finals scheduled Monday through Friday of next week.

OU's commencement will be at 7 p.m. May 11 at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, 180 W Brooks St. Undergraduate convocation ceremonies and receptions will take place throughout the day on May 12.
