There’s no reason to fear the kayak

I learned how to kayak several years ago, and it is now one of my favorite escapes.

The calm, shallow waters of Oklahoma’s lakes, ponds and small streams are ideal places to learn to kayak, and there are even a few places in Oklahoma where experienced paddlers can find whitewater.

When I mention kayaking to newcomers, the usual responses I get are, "Those things turn over too easily,” or, "...
