Thieves smash door of El Reno Walgreens, steal prescription medication

Police are searching for a group of people suspected of breaking into a pharmacy and stealing prescription medication.

About 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a Walgreens, 1550 SW 27, after a caller reported the break in. Witness accounts and surveillance video show three people approached the glass front door of the store and smashed it with a large rock, according to a news release.

The three people, who wore gloves and hooded sweatshirts, ran to the pharmacy and took an unspecified amount of prescription medication. They left through the front door and drove away in a four-door maroon Pontiac driven by a fourth person, the release states.

Two of the people are described as black males and two others are unidentified. The getaway vehicle could contain a partial tag number of DJ5089, the release states.
