While American Idol may have Simon, Randy and Paula — well, that other girl anyway — The Oklahoman’s got Berry, John and Jenni. Our infamous trio of judges will be there along the way to guide you through the season of the OKLAHOMA IDOL.

BERRY TRAMEL: We’re calling our football preview Oklahoma Idol, for a very good reason. Sam Bradford at OU and Zac Robinson at OSU are among the most popular players ever at their respective school, with a chance to be the most popular ever.

JENNI CARLSON: Bradford’s stock is already sky high with the fans. He is beloved by the Sooner Nation for his attitude, his personality, his heritage, his looks ... oh, and they don’t mind that he’s a pretty good player, too.

JOHN ROHDE: Adding a boost to Bradford’s legendary status is the fact he’s an Oklahoma boy. As much as everyone loved Billy Sims, Jack Mildren, Joe Washington, Keith Jackson, et al., it helps to be from here, like Billy Vessels, Steve Owens, Jason White, the Selmon family and many others.

TRAMEL: Of course, OSU fans love Zac Robinson even if he is from Colorado, and if he wins a Big 12 title, they wouldn’t care if he was from the planet Zoltron. Win the Big 12, and he’ll be mayor of Stillwater the rest of his life. He’s got the game, he’s got the character, he’s got the personality and he’s got the looks. Heck, the women around the office seem to rave about Zac more than they do Sam.

CARLSON: His eyes are dreamy.

TRAMEL: Let’s remember, it’s a quarterback competition.
