Ndamukong Suh Nebraska DT is getting some Heisman buzz
Multimedia
→Enrollment: 23,000
→Mascot: Cornhuskers
→Conference: Big 12
→Record: 5-3, 2-2
→Last game: Thanks to a blocked punt return for touchdown, Nebraska jumped to a 20-0 lead, then held on for a 20-10 victory at Baylor.
→Best player: Despite playing defensive tackle,
Ndamukong Suh is receiving some much-deserved consideration in the
Heisman Trophy race.
Suh leads his team in tackles (49), tackles for loss (13), pass breakups (7) and quarterback hurries (14). He also has five sacks, two blocked kicks, a forced fumble and an interception.
→Why they could win: The Huskers boast one of the best defensive fronts in college football, thanks to the dominating play of Suh in the middle. Nebraska is fourth nationally in scoring defense, allowing only 11 points a game.
→Why they could lose: As good as they are defensively, the Huskers are that bad on offense. The last two weeks against arguably the two worst teams in the league, the Husker offense has managed just two touchdowns total and turned the ball over 10 times.
