Thompson Square to host CMA Awards pre-telecast ceremonies; Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow, "Duck Dynasty" stars to present at CMAs

CMA Awards nominee Lee Brice, actress Connie Britton (star of ABC’s “Nashville”), CMA Awards nominee Kelly Clarkson, singer Sheryl Crow, CMA Awards nominee Brett Eldredge, CMA Awards nominee Eli Young Band, actor Charles Esten (star of ABC’s “Nashville”), actress and singer Lucy Hale (star of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars”), CMA Awards nominee Kip Moore, country music star Jake Owen, countrymusic star Kellie Pickler, and television personalities Willie & Korie Robertson and Jase & Missy Robertson (stars of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty”) are scheduled to present trophies during the Country Music Association’s 47th Annual CMA Awards Wednesday night.

Reigning CMA Vocal Duo of the Year Thompson Square (Miami, OK, native Keifer Thompson and wife Shawna ) will host the pre-telecast CMA Awards ceremonies, which will stream live on at 6:30 p.m. WednesdayWinners for Musical Event and Music Video of the Year as well as Musician of the Year and the 2013 CMA Broadcast Awards Radio Station and Personality of the Year will be recognized.

Hosted for the sixth consecutive year by Brad Paisley and Checotah native Carrie Underwood, te 47th Annual CMA Awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday on the ABC Television Network.

Previously announced CMA Awards presenter Robin Roberts will be on hand Wednesday morning when “Good Morning America” broadcasts live from the Bridgestone Arena Plaza. CMA Awards nominee Luke Bryan will perform during the show and winners will be revealed in the Musical Event and Music Video of the Year categories.

Added to the list of performers are Lennon & Maisy Stella. The sisters are best known for their roles on the ABC television series “Nashville.”

Other artists scheduled to perform during the ceremony include Underwood, Tishomingo resident Blake Shelton, Bryan; Jason Aldean; Eric Church; Florida Georgia Line; Hunter Hayes with Jason Mraz; Lady Antebellum; Little Big Town; Tim McGraw; Kacey Musgraves; Paisley; Taylor Swift with Oklahoma native Vince Gill and Alison Krauss; The Band Perry;  and Zac Brown Band with Dave Grohl. CMA Awards nominees Miranda Lambert, who lives in Tishomingo, and Keith Urban will perform together; Alan Jackson and George Strait will perform together in a tribute to the legendary George Jones; and Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts (which includes Joe Don Rooney of Picher), and Darius Rucker will pay homage to recent Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Kenny Rogers.

The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by more than 7,000 industry professional members of CMA, which was formed in 1958 as the first trade organization to promote an individual genre of music. The first “CMA Awards Banquet and Show” was held in 1967. The following year, the CMA Awards was broadcast for the first time – making it the longest-running, annual music awards program on network television. The CMA Awards moved to ABC in 2006, where it will remain through 2021.
