Three die after crashes on Oklahoma roads

Joshua Laughlin, 31, of Tulsa; Jacob Davis, 18, of Chelsea, and Shaun Bartels, 27, of Muskogee, died in separate accidents on Oklahoma roads, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Three people died after traffic accidents on state roads, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Joshua Laughlin, 31, Tulsa

About 11 a.m. Saturday, Laughlin was driving east on U.S. 412. The car went off the road and slid through the median, striking a westbound pickup. The pickup driver was not injured, troopers said.

Laughlin was not wearing a seat belt. He died at the scene, troopers said.

Jacob Davis, 18, Chelsea

About 10 a.m. Saturday, Davis was driving north on State Highway 66 near Foyil in Rogers County. The vehicle he was driving collided with the back of an SUV. Davis, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said.

SUV driver Stephanie Reed, 40, and passenger, Hannah Bywater, 16, both of Chelsea, were taken to a hospital in Claremore for treatment and released.

Shaun Bartels, 27, Muskogee

Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, Bartels was driving a pickup east on Interstate 40 about 9 miles west of Checotah. The pickup ran into the median and rolled.

Bartels was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, troopers said.
