Three die in Oklahoma vehicle accidents

A child and two men died after three separate accidents in Oklahoma, authorities reported.

Jimmie Joe Boyd, 81, Chouteau

About 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Boyd was driving a pickup southbound on a Mayes County road. The pickup did not stop at the stop sign at U.S. 412 and was hit by westbound car, driven by Frank Young, 89, of Bella Vista, Ark., Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.

Boyd, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

Young and and his passenger, Florence Young, 88, of Bella Vista, Ark., were taken to a Tulsa hospital and admitted for treatment. The Youngs were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, Brayson was playing in a pasture behind his home when he was struck by a pickup driven by his uncle, Brandon Ryan Dowler, 26 of Sayre, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The accident remains under investigation and the Beckham County district attorney’s office will determine if any charges will be filed, troopers said.

Christian Gutierrez, 22, hometown unknown

About 10:30 p.m., Gutierrez was a passenger in an eastbound car on Seminole County Road EW 112 near Strother that was being driven by Juan Antonio Alviso, 21, troopers said.

The car went off the road and rolled several times. Gutierrez died at the scene.

Alviso was taken by helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in critical condition.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt, troopers said, and their hometowns were not reported.
