Three people were taken by paramedics to local hospitals with minor injuries when a thunderstorm hit the Oklahoma State Fair Tuesday evening, officials said.
The storm included heavy downpours, lightning and some strong winds. Lara O'Leary, a spokeswoman for the Emergency Medical Services Authority, said several fairgoers were injured.
“Two people were hit by a tent that was blown over,” O'Leary said. “One was hit by a tree that was blown over in the parking lot. All three suffered minor injuries. They were taken in good condition to local hospitals.”
O'Leary said she did not know the ages or genders of those who were injured.
