d he supplied key baskets. Six of his 10 points were in the fourth quarter.

With OKC struggling to add to an 86-85 lead it built with 2:19 to play, Collison lowered his shoulder, drove into the lane and flipped in a soft left-handed hook with 16.4 seconds left.

"I don’t do it a lot,” said Collison, who is right-handed. "But I can make a 4-footer. When I got the ball I just wanted to make sure I got something going to the basket. I tried to keep it simple.”

Collison’s basket with 7:14 left gave OKC a 70-69 lead. The Thunder trailed only once the rest of the game. He also tipped in a missed shot that gave the Thunder an 84-81 cushion with 6:05 to play. But it was his hustle and offensive rebounds that stood out.

"If you look at winning teams they always have a guy who does the garbage work,” said Desmond Mason, a similar player. "They dive for loose balls, get dirty, catch a few elbows and get tough rebounds. To have a guy like that on our team is always a plus.”
