Serge Ibaka is $9,000 in the hole, and counting. That’s not a bad thing.
Prior to the playoffs, Ibaka pledged $500 for each of his blocked shots in the postseason, with the proceeds going toward United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Ibaka had 18 blocks in seven games against the Memphis Grizzlies in Round 1.
The Thunder blocked 53 shots as a team in the first round.
Here are some more numbers for the upcoming Thunder-Clippers series.
*Blake Griffin has more total assists against the Thunder (65) than any other team in his career.
*The Clippers are one of five teams that Kevin Durant has a 40 minute per game average against in his career (Atlanta, Detroit, Golden State, Memphis). It’s 40.0 minutes per game on the dot against the Clippers for Durant.
*With tonight’s tip, the Clippers will enter Durant’s 1,000 minutes club. Durant has only played more total minutes against two other teams in his career — Minnesota (1,013) and Portland (1,074).
*Think the 3-point shot matters? Not as much as you think. The Thunder and Clippers split their four game series 2-2 in the regular season. In the two games the Thunder won, OKC was terrible from three – a combined 9-of-40 (22.5 percent).
*Thunder guard Derek Fisher has played in a record 247 career playoff games. The most playoffs appearances on the Clippers (among active players)? Jared Dudley with 59. For the record, Chris Paul has appeared in 47 career playoff games.
