"We have to take better care of the ball in the fourth quarter, but our guys continue to battle,” Brooks said. "We’re going to win some games. We will
do that. We just have to continue to get better. A loss is a loss, there is no doubt. But there has to be lessons learned from every game whether you win or lose.”
One lesson is to avoid Nowitzki when he’s on a hot streak. Nowitzki has averaged 32.7 points the past six games and scored 46 against the Thunder, the third-highest total of his career.
"We’ve been playing like this for a while,” said Jeff Green, who matched his season high with 25 points. "We just didn’t get a break at the end. We shared the ball. It’s not the first game we’ve done that. Down the stretch we just needed another stop. Dirk had a terrific game, and Terry was coming off screens knocking down shots.”
