Thunder: Kevin Durant parting ways with agent Aaron Goodwin

Speaking before the Thunder played Golden State on Friday in Oklahoma City, Durant said he is in the process of terminating his five-year relationship with Aaron Goodwin, CEO of Goodwin Sports Management.

“I really appreciate what the Goodwins did for me, but it was time for me to move on,” Durant said.

Aaron Goodwin could not be reached for comment Friday.

The development, though, is an unexpected turn of events. Goodwin spent two days with Durant this week, traveling to Oklahoma City to watch the Thunder-Jazz game on Tuesday before attending the Thunder-Rockets game on Wednesday. Goodwin was seen on the court with Durant following Tuesday’s game, as well as standing outside the team’s locker room with Durant after the Rockets game.

Durant said he has not yet settled on a new agency. He said his brother, Tony Durant, will assist in handling his affairs in the meantime. It is believed that Tony Durant will begin full-time management of Kevin Durant, with an established agency likely entering in and aiding in an advisory role.

“I haven’t decided yet,” Durant said. “Like I said, I just got to focus on basketball and me and my brother will take care of the rest.”
