Thunder notebook: Durant still nervous
Durant still nervous
Kevin Durant, the league’s Rookie of the Year, said before Wednesday night’s game that he doesn’t feel any different going into his second season than he felt as a rookie. Durant said he still gets nervous before games, and the jitters don’t subside until tip-off. NUMBERS GAME Thunder coach P.J. Carlesimo said he doesn’t want to play anyone more than 24 minutes in the preseason but added it likely will take the Thunder a few more games than normal to get acclimated and settle in. “Normally, the first three or four you just try to find out where you’re at, take a look at some guys, let them play in the uniforms, get used to their teammates and all that stuff,” Carlesimo said. “We’re probably looking at five games.” SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY Because of the game’s remote location and no five-star hotels that generally accommodate NBA teams, the Thunder and Wolves stayed at the same hotel Tuesday night. “That made a lot of things an adventure, elevators and room service and checking out of the hotel,” said Carlesimo. The Thunder likely will have similar accommodations on Oct. 13 when it travels to Tulsa for what technically will be a road game.If you prefer your thoughts to appear in The Oklahoman's Opinion section, we encourage you to submit a letter to the editor.
