Get well

The Thunder had barely enough healthy bodies Saturday to hold a 5-on-5 scrimmage.

Guard Kyle Weaver (groin) and forwards Nick Collison (ankle), Joe Smith (nose) and Chris Wilcox (headache) did not practice. Centers Robert Swift (hand) and Mo Sene (leg) were limited.

The goal for the Thunder during today’s off day is now a simple one: get healthy.

"We need rest,” said coach P.J. Carlesimo. "If we were healthy, you’d debate and say, ‘What do we need more, a day off or another practice?’ But right now, you don’t have to think but a second. We need a day off. We need a couple of days off but can’t take a couple.”

With so many injuries, Carlesimo said he will be forced to ease up in practice.

"You’ve got to try to keep the healthy ones going forward and get them in condition and getting them ready,” Carlesimo said. "But you can’t go too long and you can’t run too much or you’re going to get more guys hurt.”

Durant: ‘I’m getting old’

Kevin Durant practiced Saturday with a protective white sleeve on his left leg.
