Desmond Mason’s leadership was on display immediately after Wednesday night’s 88-82 loss to Minnesota, when he pulled his younger teammates aside and warned them about the dangers of letting late leads slip away. The Thunder led by as many as nine in the fourth quarter and held a five-point edge with 6:40 left to play.

"We got to be able to finish games when we have leads in the fourth quarter,” Mason told his teammates. "A lot of the guys said that happened a ton last year. I think we can get better at closing games out.”

Robert Swift (hand) still isn’t participating in full-contact practice... Kyle Weaver sat out Thursday’s practice with a strained groin and will be inactive tonight... Joe Smith (toenail) participated in all of Thursday’s practice and is expected to play tonight... Sacramento starting point guard Beno Udrih (hamstring) will not play tonight.
