DWIGHT BUYCKS HAS BIG GAME
Thunder summer league guard Dwight Buycks scored a team-high 22 points on 10-for-15 shooting to go with five assists to lead the Thunder to its win over the Nets on Thursday.
Buycks, an undrafted point guard out of Marquette in 2011, played 28 games for the Tulsa 66ers last year and averaged 15.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 26.8 minutes. On Thursday, he started in place of Jackson and proceeded to win a head-to-head battle with former Kansas point guard Tyshawn Taylor.
“Buycks is a tough little guard,” said Thunder coach Mark Bryant. “He really knows how to play the game. He helped us out tremendously throughout this week and he's getting better and better each game. The kid can score, he can pass the ball, he can do quite a few things.”
