Thunder notebook: Kevin Durant: ‘I made some bad mistakes'

Following his 28-point, nine-rebound effort in Tuesday's 110-105 loss at Memphis, Thunder forward Kevin Durant singled himself out for numerous mistakes that he labeled correctable.


Durant finished with a game-high six turnovers and missed badly on an ill-advised 31-foot shot on a potential game-tying possession inside the final 15 seconds. Durant specifically pointed to that last-minute heave as one of his biggest mistakes, as well as playing in a crowd and holding on to the ball too long.

“It's all a learning experience for me,” Durant said. “I just got to keep pushing.”

ROUND THREE AGAINST DALLAS

The Dallas Mavericks have had the Thunder's number this season, winning the first two meetings in runaway fashion in Oklahoma City. Dallas will be short-handed Thursday night after losing starting small forward Caron Butler to a season-ending knee injury. The Mavericks also could be without leading scorer Dirk Nowitzki, who injured his right knee in their 103-93 win over the Thunder on Dec. 27.

Durant remembered Dallas' defense, which smothered the Thunder and forced OKC into outside shots.
