The Bobcats are playing better under first-year coach Larry Brown. Charlotte has won three of its last five games and played the Celtics tough in an 89-84 loss.

"They have some talented wing players, (Jason) Richardson and (Gerald) Wallace,” said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. "Their two points guards (Raymond) Felton and (D.J.) Augustin, are terrific players. We have to really focus on containing them. We don’t want one or two of those guys to have monster games.”

Je ff Green will occasionally be matched against center Emeka Okafor.

"Okafor is a big, strong guy, but it’s a mismatch both ways,” said Desmond Mason. "Jeff can hold his own. He’s a lot stronger than people think. And Okafor will have problems when he has to come out on the perimeter and guard Jeff.”

Defensive emphasis
Brooks emphasized defense during practices Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

"Defense is effort,” Brooks said. "We have to be willing to stop our guy — individual pride — No. 1, then (defensive) technique comes second.
