The four finalists not in the All-Star Game were the Clippers' Chauncey Billups (injured), Dallas' Lamar Odom, Memphis' Rudy Gay and New Orleans' Eric Gordon (injured).

“It'd mean the world to me, man,” Durant said of making Team USA. “I'm just excited to just get that opportunity to be on the finalist team and hopefully they pick me and I can help the team out as much as they want me to help. If they want me to come off the bench and be a great teammate, I'll do that. If they want me to just come in and shoot all 3s, I'll do it. Whatever they need me to do I'm ready to do and hopefully I'm there. I just can't wait to play along some of the greatest players in the world.”
