Thunder notebook: Westbrook, Green double up

Published: December 22, 2008
Russell Westbrook (24 points, 11 assists) and Jeff Green (16 points, 10 rebounds) posted their second double-doubles of the season.

"I thought Russell Westbrook was terrific,” said Cavs coach Mike Brown. "I got the opportunity to spend some time with him this summer. He’s a terrific kid and a young talent. We had our hands full with him the entire night. He plays so hard. That energy he brings to the table is hard to match.”

CALLING LEBRON
LeBron James told Kevin Durant he could call any time.

"When he came out of college, I wanted to help him,” James said. "Being a No. 1 pick, a player that’s supposed to save the franchise, I’ve been in that position. Our relationship is pretty solid.”

What’s the best advice LeBron has given the young Thunder star?

"That there will always be ups and downs,” Durant said. "I would get mad at myself if I had a bad game. He told me that’s part of the game. This year, I haven’t texted him as much. I need to get back to him because he’s a guy who has a lot of information I can learn from.”

REBOUNDING IMPROVEMENT
Thunder coach Scott Brooks has harped for weeks that Green needs to improve his 5.
