Thunder rookie Steven Adams selected to Rising Stars Challenge game

Steven Adams’ first season in the NBA will include a stop in New Orleans for All-Star weekend.

On Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that Adams would take part in the Rising Star challenge, the showcase game played on Friday of All-Star weekend.

The event used to pit rookies and sophomores against each other, but now, it includes a field of rookies and sophomore who will be split into teams selected by TNT personalities.

Fans will be able to vote on the starting lineup.

In somewhat of a surprise, Thunder second-year guard Jeremy Lamb was not selected to take part. Here’s the field:

Steven Adams - Thunder center

Pero Antic - Hawks center

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Bucks forward

Harrison Barnes - Warriors forward

Bradley Beal - Wizards guard

Trey Burke - Jazz guard

Michael Carter-Williams - Sixers guard

Anthony Davis - Pelicans forward

Damian Lillard - Blazers guard

Terrence Jones - Rockets forward

Mason Plumlee - Nets forard

Kelly Olynyk - Celtics center

Victor Oladipo - Magic guard

Tim Hardaway Jr. - Knicks guard

Andre Drummond - Pistons center

Dion Waiters - Cavaliers guard

Jared Sullinger - Celtics center

Jonas Valanciunas - Raptors center
