OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed free agent point guard Royal Ivey to a 10-day contract.

A 10-year NBA veteran who spent two seasons with Oklahoma City, Ivey has averaged 3.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 490 games (114 starts) for Atlanta, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and the Thunder. He is expected to join the Thunder prior to Thursday's game at Houston.

Ivey fills a need for Oklahoma City. All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook has been out since late December after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Though Reggie Jackson has been solid in Westbrook's place, the move adds depth at the position.
