The Oklahoman's writers make their picks for the Thunder-Spurs series.

Jenni Carlson

Thunder over Spurs in 6: This was my pick before the playoffs started, and I'm sticking with it. The reason? Ultimately, it comes down to the guy wearing No. 35. The Thunder has Kevin Durant. The Spurs don't.

Darnell Mayberry

Spurs over Thunder in 7: Athleticism alone will keep the Thunder competitive. But at this stage in both teams' evolution, the Spurs are deeper, smarter, more experienced and, most importantly, much more methodical when it matters most. It's been a great run. But the Thunder has met its match.

John Rohde

Spurs over Thunder in 7: I keep fluctuating as to how many games the Thunder will win. My range has been from one to three, but never quite reached four, which is the bottom line. The Spurs have slightly too much depth and too much home court for OKC to win four games. The difference will come in the smaller pieces — players like Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, Gary Neal, Boris Diaw and Matt Bonner.

Berry Tramel

Spurs over Thunder in 7: It comes down to the pick-and-roll. It's simple and it's elementary, but it's also lethal. The Thunder hasn't always defended the pick-and-roll well, and now here come the Spurs, with Tony Parker dribbling, Tim Duncan picking and an army of 3-point shooters waiting to take a pass for an open jumper. I think the Thunder will have to score a ton of points to win games, which it will three times but not four.
