Thunder the popular pick among national media

Here's a look at what is being said about the Oklahoma City Thunder's first-round playoff series with the Denver Nuggets:

Raymond Felton, Nuggets point guard: “This is when all the fun starts. It's not about payback. It's about trying to win the series.”

Ty Lawson, Nuggets point guard: “We owe them.”

Chris Mannix, “The Nuggets have written a how-to book on trading away a superstar, and ... the future is bright. But Oklahoma City is built to win now. It shored up the front line in the Kendrick Perkins trade and is now talented, deep and — as a result of last season's surprisingly hard-fought first-round series against the Lakers — experienced in the postseason. The Nuggets will win one ... but that's it. Thunder in 5.”

Kevin Durant, Thunder swingman: “A lot of people say they don't want to face Denver ... But I think, if you come against us, it's not going to be easy. I'm not trying to be arrogant, but I've got confidence in our group.”

Dave Krieger, Denver Post: “The Thunder will be favored in the series and deserves to be. It beat the Nuggets three out of four this season, including those two last week, and gets Game 7 on its home court, if it comes to that. Durant will be the best player on the court, and it will be up to Karl to come up with a helter-skelter defensive scheme to slow him down. But the Nuggets' best change in the series is to play to their strengths and turn up the tempo.”
