Thunder television analyst Grant Long has resigned his position and will not return to Fox Sports Oklahoma for the 2014-15 season, the Thunder announced Monday.

Long held the position alongside color commentator Brian Davis since the team moved to Oklahoma City in 2008.

Earlier this month, KOKH-TV reported that Long had deep financial troubles and received a $5,000 loan from an Oklahoma City businessman, agreeing to pay back $6,000 in 45 days. According to the report, that money should have been paid last October, but as of early July it remained an outstanding debt.

In the report, Long confirmed that he did negotiate a handwritten agreement for a loan with Larry Rowell, a jewelry store owner, and was quoted as saying he would repay the debt.

“There is an agreement between Larry and I,” Long told Fox 25. “Without going into much detail, which I won't do, (I'll) just say that his loan will be satisfied. It's not like I'm running out of town on a deal that I left on the table.”

Rowell, according to the report, also claimed that Long promised to introduce Thunder players to the store, which offers high-end jewelry. Long denied that claim.
