While the Oklahoma City Thunder ranks in the upper half of NBA teams for attendance, its television ratings have been disappointing. Fox Sports Oklahoma’s 1.3 average rating (percent of TV households) for Thunder telecasts is 41 percent less than Fox Sports Net’s national average of 2.2 for its 24 NBA franchises.

Ratings for Fox Sports Oklahoma (Cox 37) for its 45 regular-season telecasts range from a season-high 2.8 for Boston on Nov. 5 to 0.3 for Memphis on Nov. 29.

KSBI-52 (Cox 15) is averaging 1.0 for its 12 telecasts, ranging from 4.3 for the season opener against Milwaukee on Oct. 29 to 0.2 for Miami on Dec. 6 — the night of the Big 12 football championship.

"As we continue to introduce people to our players, to our organization and to the league, we know those numbers will grow along with the growth of the team,” said Ken Adelson, Thunder senior vice president and executive producer.

In comparison, recent OU men’s basketball telecasts against Texas and Kansas earned 12.3 and 8.9 ratings, respectively, on ESPN.
