How did the Thunder fare its last 50 games?
In upcoming years, when fans hope to be more concerned about playoff seedings than the number of ping pong balls in the lottery, the final win-loss record from 2008-09 won’t be as relevant as the team’s record the final 50 games.
After a disastrous 3-29 start, Oklahoma City is 8-7 the first third of those 50 games.
"This team is getting better every day,” said veteran point guard Chucky Atkins, acquired in a trade a month ago. "Obviously this team is young. Regardless of the record, it’s about improving every day.”
That’s been the motto since training camp.
And the Thunder has improved.
A winning record the past month has given fans hope young stars Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook, along with recently acquired Nenad Krstic, will form the foundation for a team that improves its win-loss record year after year.
