Thunderstorms, hail, high wind in Oklahoma today

Thunderstorms are sweeping into the Oklahoma City area with high wind and hail. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible with hail, the National Weather Service warns.

A thunderstorm is in the Chickasha area and moving northeast.

The forecast for central Oklahoma from the National Weather Service is as follows.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms likely mainly between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 71. South wind 16 to 23 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low around 42. West, northwest wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming south between 10 and 13 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 53. South wind between 7 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 80. South wind between 14 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 66.
