OSU RECRUIT HERSCHEL SIMS GETS ALL-AMERICAN INVITE
OSU oral commitment Herschel Sims of Abilene, Texas has been invited to play in the Army All-American game on Jan. 11 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
"It means a lot," Sims told the Abilene Reporter-News. "Now I'll have another memory I can tell my kids later down the road."
The invite is yet another honor for the standout running back, who will be featured in the MTV series "The World of Jenks" after being followed by a film crew for several days last summer.
Sims rushed for 2,352 yards and scored 40 touchdowns while leading Abilene to the Class 5A Division II state championship in 2009. Through four games, he has 298 rushing yards and two touchdowns along with seven receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown.
TONIGHT MARKS TEXAS A&M'S FIRST ROAD TEST
Tonight's game is the first road game for Texas A&M. OSU fans will be looking to make things as hard as possible for the Aggies.
"They are right on top of you," Aggie coach Mike Sherman said. "We've already talked about that element of it, the maturity factor our team has to have. The fans are sitting right behind you, and cheering for their team and against you.
"We talked about where you can't lose focus and just allow them to do what they're doing. We're not going to change that, but how we handle that is in our control."
