EDMOND — One need only look to the clock for the name of a new contemporary worship service at First Baptist Church of Edmond, 1300 SE 33.
Kevin Pruitt, the church’s young adult pastor, said the new service is called 605 and starts at 6:05 p.m. Sundays.
He said the service began Oct. 4 and will be offered Sundays through Nov. 15.
Pruitt said church leaders wanted to launch the service for two months, in the fall until mid-November. He said the plan is to bring the service back permanently after the first of the year.
He said 605 includes the 605 Band, Bible teaching and "Jesus and Me” sessions for children.
Church leaders designed the service to engage young college students and married adults in their 20s and 30s, Pruitt said.
He said in keeping with the youth-oriented flair, attire is casual.
"I tell people that whatever they’re wearing at 5:05, they can wear to 605,” Pruitt said.
