's not a guy you would want to hang out with. He'd probably tell you that. That's not his deal.

"We're close. ... But I don't talk about wins and losses, who is playing quarterback, what system we're using. I talk to him about personnel. He's very, very good at that."

Gundy was then asked whether Holder or Pickens have given him a timetable to turn things around.

"I've heard Mr. Pickens tell Coach Holder that we should see the team improving," Gundy said. "The funny thing about Mr. Pickens is he will tell you can't always dictate that in sports by wins and losses.

"Where is the team at? How do they compete? Do they play hard? How did they compete against a top 5 team? How did they play against another team? How is the attitude of the team? Is the coaching staff there? The overall picture, I think Mr. Pickens has a better view of that than what people realize."
