GUTHRIE — Daniel Green of Oakdale, Calif., claimed his third Timed Event Championship of his career Sunday at the Lazy E Arena.

Green collected $52,000 in winnings after finishing 25 runs in a cumulative time of 313.6 seconds. Green's other championships came in 2002 and 2008.

“Mission accomplished,” Green said. “It wasn't perfect by any means. Many times it's not, but that's the Timed Event Championship. It's adapt, adjust and overcome. It's the guy that perseveres, and I just kept my mind set.

“These kids were coming in here and roping fast, and I just kept solid. I've been here enough to know.”

Green, 40, finished the last of five rounds in 76.0 seconds, his slowest of the event. But it was still good enough to beat runner-up Paul David Tierney of Oral, S.D., by 30.3 seconds. Tierney pursed $25,000.

Six-time champion Trevor Brazile of Decatur, Texas, finished third, 29 seconds shy of Green.
