Voters in the party primary will have the opportunity to decide on candidates in several statewide races, including U.S. Senate, five congressional seats, governor, lieutenant governor, state auditor and inspector, attorney general, state schools superintendent and several legislative seats.

Candidates who receive a majority of the votes will be on the ballot in the November election. If a candidate from a single party does not receive more than half of the votes, a runoff primary election will be held Aug. 24, according to the state Election Board.
