NORMAN - Former Oklahoma basketball player Wayman Tisdale says he's doing well in his recovery from a surgery to amputate part of his right leg.
Tisdale appeared in a video message at halftime of the Sooners' football game against TCU on Saturday night, telling fans that he's at peace following the operation.
Tisdale is Oklahoma's all-time leading scorer and went on to play 12 seasons in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns.
He had the surgery in August on his right leg, where cancer was discovered last year.
Tisdale says it was a serious operation, but something that needed to happen.
