Tish Hinojosa will stage Norman concert
NORMAN — Singer/songwriter Tish Hinojosa will perform in concert at 7 p.m. March 3 at the Santa Fe Depot, 200 S Jones Ave. Tickets are $20.
Hinojosa's music crosses cultural boundaries and musical genres with a blend of folk, country, pop and Latino.
Hinojosa has performed at the White House and recorded and worked with musicians such as Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yoakam, Nanci Griffith, Pete Seeger, Flaco Jimenez and Los Lobos.
The youngest of 13 children born to Mexican immigrant parents, Hinojosa grew up listening to traditional Mexican songs on her parents' radio, as well as the pop and folk stations of the 1960s.
She began performing in 1976 and was soon writing many of her own songs. In 1988, she was signed by A&M Records. Her national debut release was “Homeland,” followed by 14 other albums.
