I think it starts with that fact that they have the best player in the Western Conference in Kevin Durant. With all due respect to Kobe Bryant and all the other great players, I think he is the best player. I think in a weird way them not having (James) Harden not only gives them more responsibility but gives them more opportunity to show just how great they are. I think this team is on an upward trend as the season progresses." Webber on this year’s Thunder team being better than last year’s team: “I still don’t think they are a better team. I think they are blessed and lucky that the Lakers are still slipping. I do think that with this system and the coaches, they won’t lose a step because, when the time comes, they will make up for the loss of Harden.” Anthony on Durant: “The greatness in Kevin Durant in part is that he is not an Alpha male. He doesn’t have the mindset that Kobe (Bryant) has in his approach to scoring. He does it through efficiency not through volume. The reason he and Westbrook work so well is Westbrook is an Alpha male, he is aggressive. He wants to be in attack mode. It wouldn’t work with other players. It is a similar dynamic with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.” Ibaka on OKC’s performance this season: “Last year we played great, it’s not easy to make the NBA Finals, but this year we are stronger and better.” Webber on the Thunder’s momentum: “Oklahoma City is in a rhythm. They are still on a mission. … I think tonight we saw what they are going to do. We saw (Russell) Westbrook improve, watch his turnovers, increase his assists and Durant is scary. … He’s a nightmare.” - John Rohde
